The 2011 Super Chevy Show season is expected to be a year to remember, and it begins April 8-10 when the national touring series kicks off its 31st season by returning to the Sunshine State and Palm Beach International Raceway, the site of some of the first events in the show's history.
It's the first of the series' 12-event schedule that will feature stops at four new venues, beginning at PBIR. Also new to the schedule are visits to Spokane County Raceway in Airway Heights, Wash. on July 29-31; Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on Sept. 2-4 and Rockingham (N.C.) Dragway on Oct. 21-23. The series will again conclude in Phoenix, visiting Firebird International Raceway on Oct. 28-30.
The PBIR event will feature the always-popular car show; the Toyo Tires Autocross, scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday of the event; sportsman drag racing including the DriveDuracell.com class, and a Pro Show that includes Jets, Wheelstanders and Nostalgia Dragsters. The weekend will be highlighted by a thrilling Pro-Mod bracket that features two rounds of qualifying on Saturday with eliminations scheduled for Sunday. Saturday's schedule will also feature the True Street Challenge, and weekend's activities will begin with a “Car Cruise to the Super Chevy Show” from a soon to be announced location. -30-
