JUPITER, Fla. (April 2, 2009) - - Palm Beach International Raceway hosted an IndyCar Series test on the 2-mile road course on April 1. This is the first time in the track's history to host the premier series.
Stanton Barrett drove his No. 98 Curb/Agajanian/3G owned race car on the circuit in preparation for the IndyCar Series season-opener, Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (Fla.), on Sunday, April 5.Â
"We are very pleased that the team decided to test here," stated Ron Dixon, Palm Beach International
Raceway President & COO. "The track underwent a complete renovation last year. This is proof all the hard work is paying off. It is great to have one of the premier racing series want to test on it."Â
Barrett has extensive racing experience and moved over to the IRL for the 2009 season. The seasoned driver has more than 190 stock car starts and plans to be behind the wheel for select NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series races in 2009 as well. In addition to his motor racing career, the California native appeared in more than 200 motion picture and television series, including The Dukes of Hazzard, Spider Man 1, 2, and 3 and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. |
