INDIANAPOLISÂ - - Team PBIR drivers Charlie Kimball and Richard Phillipe took to the renown Indianapolis Motor Speedway to test the Firestone Indy Lights race cars in preparation for the upcoming race on May 22, 2009.
Piloting the No. 35 Team PBIR car, Kimball laid down fast laps during the test and upon the completion of his 45-lap session, he was the seventh fastest Dallara and third of the rookie drivers in the field of 21-race cars with a 47.2588-second and 190.441
mph lap.
After signing driver Richard Phillipe to test the No. 37 car at Indy, he finished 11th in the practice session turning 79-laps. The Valence, France native's fastest lap was Lap 70 at 47.5355-seconds and 189 mph.
Presently Charlie Kimball sits in the 15th position in the Firestone Indy Lights championship points and Phillipe in 12th as they head toward the 40-lap, 100-mile race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 22. The No. 35 and No. 37 cars will qualify for the event on the 2.5-mile track on May 21.
Jay Howard having piloted the Team PBIR No. 37 car in the season's first four races sits in the 9th position in the Firestone Indy Lights Championship Points Standings. |
