It was announced today that MRP at Palm Beach Int’l Raceway (PBIR) has released a four-race schedule to promote local karting in the area as well as allow new karting participants to get their feet wet in a local racing series.
The series will kick-off on September 11 for a Memorial Race in tribute for the heroes and victims of 9/11/01.
“One of our motivations for this series is to showcase the improvements we have made at the facility,” said Rony Miron, MRP-PBIR Manager. “We have been fortunate to create several new karters over the past season and now is the time to give them a local place to compete while creating fair and equal treatment for all.”
The schedule will include one race each month with the final event in the fall series on December 4 and will also run in clockwise and counter-clockwise configurations.
SCHEDULE:
Race #1: September 11th (counterclockwise)
Race #2: October 23rd (clockwise)
Race #3: November 20th** (clockwise)
Race #4: December 4th (counterclockwise)
** Subject to change due to major events at PBIR
We have really gone all out to ramp up officiating for these events,” continued Miron. “We will have Glenn Biggs as Race Director, Billy Newburg as Head Flagger and several professional staffers on hand. We will also have Dave Talbot, a WKA and ROTAX Certified Tech Director, there for tech.”
The class structure is as follows:
- All Rotax classes (MicroMax, MiniMax, Rotax Jr, Rotax Sr., Rotax Masters, DD2) -rules and regulations as per Rotax Max Challenge 2010 rule book.
- TAG Senior and Tag Masters (per WKA engine technical specs - weight is set to ROTAX class weights + 10 lbs)
- ICC (375 lbs.) Stock Moto (395 lbs.) OEM components for stock Moto classes and homologated engine specs for ICC classes
- Kid Kart class (per WKA with the engine claim rule by Tech Director or any competitor in the class Bridgestone YDL tires 1 set for the year
