Jupiter, Fla.-- It was the perfect weekend for race fans; mild weather, fast cars and a world class raceway that provided the ideal backdrop. So it was only natural for the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), to debut Palm Beach International Raceway’s road course for the Palm Beach Classic SCCA Road Race on Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th. Covering two full days, with 7 total groups of racers, fans were treated to an action packed racing weekend as drivers competed in the South Atlantic Road Racing Championship.
With qualifying running for all groups on Saturday, Sunday saw non stop action as all races ran consecutively from start to finish − The SCCA organizes, supports and develops national championships to regional events, both professional and amateur.Â
As the first road course event held at the newly transformed Palm Beach International Raceway, drivers of the SCCA were excited to run on the IRL-Sanctioned, 2.034 mile track. With the road course currently awaiting FIA certification, Palm Beach International Raceway will continue to hold weekly and national weekend events, as well as, host driving schools, professional team testing and be the home of the Palm Beach Driving Club. |
