The Florida Region of the National Auto Sport Association (N.A.S.A.) is gearing up for busy weekend of racing this Saturday and Sunday at Palm Beach International Raceway. With well over 100 cars set to take the track this weekend, the road course PBIR is sure to be a busy place.
N.A.S.A. offers a class for every level of racer, from beginning to expert. The lowest class is HDPE (High Performance Driving Event) 1. There are four levels of HDPE classes, with one being the beginners and four being the highly advanced group of drivers.
There are also time trials set throughout the weekend for advanced to expert (HPDE 4) level drivers. Time trials are held in an unlimited, open passing track environment with other cars sharing the same track sessions.  Participants compete for season points and individual awards by time trial class.
“This is only our second time back since the track has been renovated,†said Steve Nix, Manager of the South Florida region of N.A.S.A. “We’re glad to be back. We love the track, it’s wider and smoother. It’s in such a great shape and everyone loves it.’
Gates open at 7 a.m. both Friday and Saturday for the N.A.S.A. event. For further information about the event or N.A.S.A. and to view a schedule of events for the weekend, visit www.drivenasafl.com.
